OUR COMMUNITY

To us, community is not just about the people within the walls of our school. We believe in instilling a sense of broader community to our students by interacting with and contributing to our local neighborhood.

We enjoy a rich and rewarding relationship with our surrounding Forest Hills Gardens community. For many years our school choir has sung at the Annual Flag Day ceremony in Flagpole Park, and our children participate in an annual essay contest sponsored by the Forest Hills Gardens Community. They have enjoyed field trips to our local fire station as well as the historically-rich Forest Hills Tennis Club. In 2015, our students experienced a true sense of purpose by making blankets to help the younger victims of Hurricane Sandy. Our P.A. also shared in the Gardens’ recent 100th birthday celebration by hosting a musical gala celebrating the rich cultural history of our neighborhood. Some proceeds from that event were given back to the community by donating a tree to replace one of many lost during the microblast a few years ago.

In May of 2014 we celebrated 100th Anniversary.
